Kaizen is the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement. It is also how these frames are made — every pair sharper than the last, cut by hand from dense tropical hardwood, finished like a jeweler would finish it.
The Wood
Katalox — sometimes called Mexican royal ebony. Dark as midnight, hard as iron, and polishes to a natural luster no factory finish can imitate. One of the densest woods on earth, chosen because a frame you wear every day should be built like it.
The Craft
No CNC, no molds, no assembly line. Every frame is cut, shaped, and fitted by hand — lens grooves carved freehand to tolerances measured in tenths of a millimeter. If it isn’t right, it doesn’t ship.
The Lenses
Frames are only half of a pair of glasses. Your lenses are cut and mounted by our wholesale optical lab partner, B&D Optical — prescription or sun, finished to the same standard as the frames they sit in.
How It Works
1 · Find your frame
Browse the Collection for the model that speaks to you. Every commission starts from a model and ends as a one-of-one.
2 · Tell us about you
A short consultation: your prescription or sun-lens choice, your measurements, the details that make it yours.
3 · We carve & build
Your frame is cut by hand, your lenses are cut and mounted by our optical lab, then polished and shipped to you.
One maker. One piece of wood. One pair of glasses.
